Afternoon at The Peak, Davao City

Thursday, February 9, 2012

During my visit in Davao City last weekend, I got to check out The Peak that sits on top of Gaisano Mall in Bajada — thanks to my friend who told me about the place last December. My visit was short (spent less than an hour) and I never got to try out the restaurants since I had to meet some of my friends at Abreeza Mall. Even so, I found the place to be good and definitely worth a second visit some time in the future.

The Peak is a new alfresco area in the mall that opened just recently, which is quite similar to Ayala Cebu's Terraces and Abreeza's version of it. A few restaurants are already open (see list below) to suite everybody's taste buds and I'm already planning to treat my parents in any of those. The place is also perfect to catch a good view of Davao City in daytime and it is most certainly at its best during nighttime when Davao City lights up and the fountain area illuminates and changes into different colors. You can check this blog to see how it looks during nighttime.

How to Get There
The most convenient way to reach Gaisano Mall from any point in the city is to ride a taxi but if you're on a budget, you can ride the jeepney that will take you to Bajada.

Take the escalators going to the 5th floor and look for the food court. Entrance to The Peak is at the end of the court.

Currently, The Peak is open during regular mall hours, which is from 10 in the morning to 8 in the evening from Monday to Thursday and 10am to 9pm from Friday to Sunday, but the management is planning to extend up to 2 in the morning after the rest of the restaurants will open.

Restaurants in the Area
There are only a few restaurants in the area but some are already under construction. In the meantime, here are some of the reviews from other bloggers about these restaurants:

For now, I'm leaving you with some of the basic stuff. I'm going back to Davao this August and will write more about this place...after I visit Hagimit Falls at Samal Island.

Hi Champoy. Yes, I had a great time in Davao. I'm originally from the city also but I'm now based in Cebu.

Glad you liked my post.
